Each year, the West Point Association of Graduates proudly awards the Sylvanus Thayer Award, Distinguished Graduate Award & Alexander R. Nininger Award.
Distinguished Graduate Award
Given to graduates of the United States Military Academy whose character, distinguished service, and stature draw wholesome comparison to the qualities for which West Point strives, in keeping with its motto: “Duty, Honor, Country.”
Thayer Award
Presented to an outstanding citizen of the United States whose service and accomplishments in the national interest exemplify personal devotion to the ideals expressed in the West Point motto, “Duty, Honor, Country.”
