WPSOA Hosts BEAT NAVY Farewell Dinner for Exchange Cadets

Category: Society News

In December, the West Point Society of Annapolis (WPSOA) hosted a BEAT NAVY/Farewell Dinner for the eight exchange cadets assigned to the Naval Academy for the fall semester. 30 people, including the exchange cadets, gathered to celebrate the Army’s recent victory over Tulane and to cheer on Army’s upcoming victory over Navy. The dinner was held at O’Brien’s in Annapolis and featured discussions by the cadets on their experiences at Annapolis during their semester, as well as their likes and dislikes about the USNA.

Following the discussions, the cadets signed the WPSOA BEAT NAVY Banner, a 30-year tradition, and the assemblage wished the cadets well in their careers and on their upcoming trip to nearby Landover, MD, to watch the Army Football Team beat the Navy!

One of the West Point Society of Annapolis (WPSOA) primary missions is to support and assist USMA Cadets assigned to the United States Naval Academy (USNA) as part of the Academy Exchange Program. In accomplishing this mission, the WPSOA welcomes the exchange cadets shortly after they arrive in the Annapolis area by hosting an August welcome picnic in their honor. During the picnic, the exchange cadets are individually introduced to the picnic guests. Furthering mission accomplishment, the WPSOA hosts an Affirmation Ceremony and Dinner for the exchange cadets in early September, followed by monthly dinners in September, October, November, and December.
