Four members of the West Point Orienteering Team have been selected to compete on the 2023 US National Orienteering Team. CDT Tyler Wilson ’24 was selected to compete on the Team USA Performance Squad, while CDTs Hana Myers ’25, Shawn Mather ’25, and Holden Sopoti ’25, were selected to compete on the Team USA Junior Squad. They will represent the US Team at the national level and international competitions while vying for selective spots at specific competitions throughout the year. Being named to the national team is recognition of being a top orienteering athlete in the US, and these cadets are on the short list to represent the US at the highest-level orienteering competitions – the World Cup, World Championships, and Junior World Championships. The US Team is a great community of high performing athletes and supporters who challenge, support, and provide training opportunities. The team members also give back to the orienteering community by supporting other developing orienteers across the nation helping create the next generation of US team members.
