West Point Equestrian Advances to Nationals

The West Point Equestrian team had an outstanding performance at the Zones competition at Centenary University in Long Valley, New Jersey. More than 20 schools from the Northeastern Region competed for a chance to qualify for Nationals. Two West Point cadets earned their spots to continue the journey to Nationals. CDT Claire Shioutakon ’27 competed in the Intermediate Equitation on the Flat class. She went head-to-head with 20 other talented riders and exhibited a stellar performance, clinching first place. This secured her ticket to the prestigious International Horse Show Association National Competition.

Closing out the day was CDT Amy Miseli ’26, who competed in the Introductory Equitation on the Flat class. Against a competitive field of 20 cadets, Amy delivered a remarkable ride and earned second place. This also punched her own ticket to Nationals. Both cadets’ remarkable achievements are a testament to their skill, dedication, and the strength of the West Point Equestrian Program.
