The West Point Cyber Team delivered outstanding performances in two major competitions in October, showcasing their expertise in both policy and technical arenas. October 18-19, the Policy Squad competed virtually in the prestigious NYC Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge, hosted by Columbia University and the Atlantic Council. The Black Knights and Golden CyberMules teams presented strategic policy solutions to an international cybersecurity scenario. Out of 24 teams, including competitors from the USAFA and Air Command and Staff College, the Golden CyberMules secured an impressive second place.

Meanwhile, from October 25-27, the Operations Squad tackled the National Cyber League Individual Competition, held in the Cyber Research Center at West Point. Competing against over 8,500 undergraduates nationwide, CDT Cooper Druzgal ’25 ranked in the top 0.1%, placing 11th overall. Earlier, the squad had participated in NYU’s CSAW CTF Qualifier, finishing 29th out of 1,181 teams worldwide and 14th in the North America Undergraduate bracket, surpassing the USAFA team, which placed 177th. Through these high-caliber performances, the Cyber Team continues to cement West Point’s reputation as a leader in cybersecurity excellence.

There are more than 120 clubs at West Point, including athletic, recreational, academic, religious, hobby, and diversity clubs—something for virtually every interest. These clubs are made possible by the generous supporters who contribute to the Margin of Excellence.
