Swim & Dive Athletes Complete 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials

Five Army West Point Swim & Dive athletes traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana to compete in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials held at Lucas Oil Stadium. The quintet of CDT Kohen Rankin ’26, CDT Kalvin Hahn ’27, 2LT Aurelie Migault ’24, 2LT Sam Wesley ’24, and CDT Owen Harlow ’25 performed admirably at the meet, representing the Black Knights well at one of the biggest stages for Swim & Dive and making program history in the process.

Two of Army’s swimmers made program history at the meet as Hahn became the first Black Knight to swim in multiple events at the same U.S. Olympic Team Trials meet while Migault put her name in the Army West Point record books as the first member of the Women’s Swim & Dive program to compete at the Trials.

Kohen Rankin was the first Black Knight to take to the water in Indianapolis at the meet as he competed in the first heat of the men’s 100 Breaststroke preliminary on June 15. The yearling claimed third in his heat and 56th overall with a time of 1:02.28 in the event.

Kalvin Hahn stood as the next swimmer to hit the water for Army West Point as he swam on June 16 in the men’s 400 IM preliminary in the second heat. Hahn clocked a time of 4:33.32 in his first event of the week to finish 76th overall.

Aurelie Migault also competed on June 16, making history as she swam in the seventh heat of the women’s 100 Breaststroke event to cement her place as the first female swimmer from the Black Knights to swim at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. She delivered a time of 1:11.78 to finish 71st overall.

Hahn returned to the water on June 18 for his history-making second event of the Trials. He clocked a time of 2:18.25 in the fifth heat of the men’s 200 Breaststroke preliminary to finish 73rd overall.

June 20 saw the final two Army swimmers take to the starting blocks, beginning with Owen Harlow in the men’s 50 Freestyle. The Huntsville, AL native earned a time of 23.00 to tie for 63rd overall in the prelims.

Sam Wesley took to the water for the men’s 200 IM on June 20 as well, rounding out the Black Knights’ appearances at the Trials with a 2:04.46 in the ninth heat of the event to finish 75th overall.
