Notice is hereby given that the 2024 Annual Meeting for regular members of the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) will take place on Tuesday, November 19 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time in the Herbert Hall Alumni Center, 698 Mills Road, West Point, New York 10996. The business of the meeting will be to elect a Chair, Vice-Chair, five members to our Board of Directors, and six Advisors at Large.

Secretary Michael R. Pompeo ’86 Addresses Joint Founders Day Gala in Baltimore

On Saturday, 11 March 2023, the West Point Societies of Annapolis (WPSOA), Baltimore and the Northern Chesapeake sponsored a Joint Founders Day Gala at Martin’s West, Baltimore, MD. The in-person event was attended by 250 members and guests from the three societies, as well as the DC Society, the DELMARVA Society, and the Parents Club of MD, DC and Virginia.

The lavish event was Emceed by Rich DeMarco, Army Associate Athletic Director, and featured vocalist Mary-Agnes Evans (Class ’51 widow), the USMA’s Benny Havens Band, the precision drill team from Ft. Myers, VA and a reading of the Cadet Prayer by Cadet Amelia Kitlinski ’25. The colors were posted and retired by the Johns Hopkins ROTC Honor Guard. The event also featured a raffle, a silent auction and a photo booth.

The oldest grad remarks were presented by a trio of ’68 grads, Bob Beahm, Henry Riser & Bob Stroud, and the youngest grad remarks by Dorian Bailey ’22. WPAOG’s Bob Curran ’72 also provided brief remarks on USMA development.

The evening culminated with Michael R. Pompeo ’86, the 70th Secretary of State, addressing the audience on his perspective of world events, focusing on Russia, Ukraine, China and North Korea. The evening concluded with the singing of the Alma Mater. [photo: C King Media]
