Army West Point Women’s Tennis was pushed to the brink by UConn, trying to secure an unbeaten weekend late on February 1. Enter CDT Jenna Sabile ’25, No. 2 singles.

With the Black Knights winners of matches vs. Stony Brook on January 31 and St. Bonaventure earlier on February 1, the Huskies forced Army to go the distance to secure its third team win of the weekend.

Sabile, already winner of two singles matches across the weekend, finished a combined 3-0 in singles and 4-0 overall January 31 and February 1. She had to overcome a first set loss to UConn’s Maria Constantinou to secure both her and her team’s unbeaten mark.

In the final set, the firstie held serve to go ahead 6-5, before breaking serve at 40-40 deciding point to win the third set 7-5.

Earlier, UConn took the doubles point with ease, forcing Army to battle back in singles.

Facing a 2-0 deficit after one singles match completed, the Black Knights used wins from CDTs Emma Sy ’26, Ylan Duong ’26, and Allison Harris ’28 to set up Sabile’s heroics.

Army is back at Lichtenberg Tennis Center for matches vs. Marquette and Georgetown on February 7, and Monmouth on February 8.
