The USMA academic year of 2022-23 is dedicated to the study of the military officer’s role and relationship with society and civilian leaders.

Dr. Gibson served district NY-19 in the U.S. House of Representatives, commanded 2BCT, 82nd Airborne Division in Haiti, served four combat tours in Iraq, was part of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, and taught in the USMA Department of Social Sciences (SOSH) from 1995-98.
