“Often, when you’re changing, you’re fighting. You’re fighting the people that don’t really want to change and you’ve got to work at it extremely hard. You have to have a strategy. How are you going to get there? What’s the vision? You have to be passionate about it. And when it’s the right thing to do, it’s very, very difficult. It takes a ton of effort and a ton of energy. But it is worth it when you succeed. The Army must have that. They must have leaders that are willing to go out and make change where it’s needed at the strategic level for the toughest problems.”
