The Minneapolis FBI and Grand Rapids Police Department announced on March 18, 2024 that a pair of ruby slippers featured in the classic 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz” and stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, in 2005, was returned to the rightful owner, collector Michael Shaw.

Last year, a group of cadets taking part in a USCC leadership development program visited Fort Belvoir, Virginia and had the opportunity to meet with current U.S. Army Reserve general officers. Over lunch, these general officers explained to the cadets what they do in their civilian careers and what they do in the Army Reserve.

Beto ’14 Selected as Olmsted Scholar
CPT Louis A. Beto ’14 was recently selected by The George and Carol Olmsted Foundation as a member of the Olmsted Scholar Class of 2025. Over the next three years, Beto will complete language training and pursue graduate studies on a full scholarship in Istanbul, Türkiye.
