West Point Cadets Learn from Battle-tested Leaders During Mission Command Conference
As the Class of 2024 cadets inch closer toward graduation, every moment that allows them to engage and interact with past and current leaders is one more brick added to their leadership foundation. Hence, the First Class cadets participated in the Mission Command Conference (MCC) from March 19-20, 2024 at Eisenhower Hall, along with staff and faculty while gathering insight from consummate leaders who battled adversity during a crisis.

Serving the Nation: Reserve Service
Last year, a group of cadets taking part in a USCC leadership development program visited Fort Belvoir, Virginia and had the opportunity to meet with current U.S. Army Reserve general officers. Over lunch, these general officers explained to the cadets what they do in their civilian careers and what they do in the Army Reserve.

Beto ’14 Selected as Olmsted Scholar
CPT Louis A. Beto ’14 was recently selected by The George and Carol Olmsted Foundation as a member of the Olmsted Scholar Class of 2025. Over the next three years, Beto will complete language training and pursue graduate studies on a full scholarship in Istanbul, Türkiye.

West Point Marathon Team Hosts Half Marathon to Honor Fallen Graduates
Hosted by the Army West Point Marathon team on March 17, the 2024 Fallen Comrades Half Marathon at West Point saw approximately 700 participants conquer a challenging 13.1-mile course in remembrance of 13 fallen West Point graduates.

15 West Point Women Endure 2023 RAGBRAI
When it began in 1973, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) had less than 300 participants; this past summer, for its 50th anniversary ride, the approximately 500-mile, weeklong ride through the small and midsize towns in Iowa had tens of thousands of riders. Fifteen of those riders were members of the West Point Women (WPW) group, including Casey Moes ’99.

West Point Hosts 2024 McDonald Conference for Leaders of Character
West Point is hosting undergraduate students from across the globe this week for the annual McDonald Conference for Leaders of Character (MCLC). The conference, made possible by the vision and resources of founding benefactors HON Bob McDonald ’75 and Diane McDonald, provides cadets and attendees from different backgrounds the opportunity to take part in team-based experiential and analytical exercises to bolster leadership skills, foster critical thinking and collaboration, and explore strategies to address global issues.

Jackson ’02 Receives SAR War Service Medal
Sons of the American Revolution Pittsburgh Chapter member Robert E. Jackson ’02 received the SAR War Service Medal in grateful recognition for his two tours of active duty service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a U.S. Army Officer.
