West Point Class of 2025 Celebrates Branch Night
West Point firsties celebrated Branch Night on December 4, where the Class of 2025 opened their envelopes to receive their U.S. Army branch assignments. Upon graduation, these cadets will be commissioned as Army officers and enter into one of 17 Army branches to which they were assigned.

The Seymour Family Parachute Team Endowment
Many cadets play sports for the rush of adrenaline. However, few cadet-athletes can claim to find their adrenaline rush where members of the West Point Parachute Team regularly find theirs—at 12,000 feet above the ground in freefall. Founded in 1959, the West Point Parachute Team is one of the oldest continuously operating parachute teams in the U.S. military.

Berginc Wins Title, Wrestling Finishes Second at Black Knight Invitational
Army West Point Wrestling’s CDT Ethan Berginc ’26 capped off a team second-place finish at Sunday’s Black Knight Invitational with a title in the 133 lb weight class. Berginc—who entered the day as the No. 1 seed in his weight class—defeated Gardner-Webb’s TK Davis in the final.

USSOCOM Leaders Visit West Point
U.S. Army Command SGM Shane Shorter, Command Senior Enlisted Leader, United States Special Operations Command, visited the U.S. Military Academy to meet with cadets, tour the Center for Enhanced Performance, and learn more about West Point WERX and the Robotics Research Center on November 1.

Davis Completes Campaign at NCAA Cross Country Championships
CDT Nathan Davis ’26 of Army West Point Men’s Cross Country wrapped up the season at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on November 24. Davis placed 199th in the 10K race with a time of 30:46.20 from the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Championship Course. Harvard’s Graham Blanks won the individual title with a mark of 28:37.2 as BYU claimed the team title.

Cadets Push Themselves to Their Physical Limit During the Indoor Obstacle Course Test
It’s a test of physical endurance, brute strength, and the mental will to achieve past one’s bodily limits as U.S. Military Academy second- and first-class cadets push themselves during the Indoor Obstacle Course Test (IOCT) on November 20 at Hayes Gymnasium in the Arvin Cadet Physical Development Center.

West Point Announces New Aerospace Engineering Major
The U.S. Military Academy at West Point is thrilled to announce its newest academic major — Aerospace Engineering! This program expands on the existing aerospace minor within the Mechanical Engineering program. It will provide cadets with innovative knowledge in aeronautical and astronautical engineering as they prepare for future warfare in a rapidly evolving world.

West Point Cadets Named Rhodes Scholars
Four U.S. Military Academy cadets were named among the 32 U.S. Rhodes Scholarship awardees on Saturday, Nov. 16. Class of 2025 Sarah Cao, Shepherd Dzina, Gabriella Sorrentino, and Ava Spinar will study at the University of Oxford in the fall of 2025.

Cadets Honored for Athletic Excellence, Warrior Ethos in Receiving Hal Moore Award
CDTs Gabriella Sorrentino ’25 and Isaiah McNeilly ’25 were chosen as the recipients of the 2024 Lt. Gen. Hal Moore Athlete of Excellence Award and received their accolades during a ceremony Nov. 14, 2024, in the Haig Room.
