Gymnastics Concludes Individual Event Finals at the West Point Open

The Army West Point Gymnastics team concluded the second and final day of the West Point Open with strong performances in the individual event finals.

CDT Maddox Pabellon ’26 claimed the pommel horse championship, delivering the highest score of the night with a 14.100. CDT Noah Duran ’27 earned two podium finishes, taking second in the pommel horse with a score of 13.450 and second in the parallel bars with a 13.400.

CDT Tyson Phelps ’27 secured a second-place finish on the high bar, scoring 13.150. CDT Nick Lester ’27 contributed solid performances, finishing fourth in both vault (13.950) and high bar (12.900). CDT Jojo Buselmeier ’25 competed on floor exercise and still rings, placing eighth (11.750) and sixth (12.550), respectively.

CDT Ben Aguilar ’28, making his NCAA debut this weekend, impressed with a fourth-place finish in the floor exercise, scoring 13.300. CDT Conor Heary ’28 represented the Black Knights on still rings, earning fourth place with a score of 12.950. Fellow plebe CDT Cash Johnson ’28, also making his NCAA debut, placed fifth on the parallel bars with a score of 12.650. Another plebe, CDT Jake Prabhakaran ’28, finished sixth on the pommel horse, scoring 12.600.

CDT Gabe Almeida ’25 rounded out the competition for Army with a seventh-place finish on still rings, scoring 12.350.

The Black Knights return to action on January 18, traveling to State College to face Penn State in a dual meet.
