Suffolk’s Cole Christiansen ’20 has pinched himself quite a bit lately.
As he reflects on his life’s journey, he sees a kid at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in Virginia, a cadet in the U.S Military Academy and now, a 26-year-old NFL player who took on sports’ biggest stage.
On Sunday, February 11, he ran out of the tunnel with the Kansas City Chiefs and helped defeat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
“I don’t deserve any of this, really. I’m living a charmed life and I’m very lucky,” Christiansen, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker, said two days after the Chiefs earned a spot in their fourth Super Bowl in five seasons.
