Four USMA Cadets completed Brazilian Mountain School, including Cadet Ikaria Falvey ’24, the first American female cadet to accomplish the feat. Through freezing temperatures, scarred knuckles, and unfamiliar terrain, cadets pushed through to join their Brazilian brothers and sisters at the top of the Black Needles (Agulhas Negras) mountain range. This training was not only a physical challenge but one that also tested their Portuguese proficiency, cross-cultural competency, and their technical mountaineering prowess.
