Fans have selected CDT Bryson Daily ’25 of Army as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week. He earned the honor over seven other Manning Award Stars of the Week in the Allstate Sugar Bowl’s online fan voting contest. This is his third win this season as he was also recognized after his week 6 performance in Army’s 42-7 win over Tulsa and his week 8 performance in a 45-28 AAC victory over East Carolina.
Daily, a firstie from Abernathy, Texas, led the Black Knights to a perfect 8-0 conference finish as they defeated UTSA, 29-24. Trailing by one entering the fourth quarter, Daily ran for touchdowns on back-to-back drives, including his AAC record-tying 25th rushing TD. He was 10-of-17 passing with a season-high 190 yards and one touchdown.
In addition to the Manning Award honor, Daily was also named the AAC Offensive Player of the Year. He has set Army’s single season record for touchdowns responsible for in a season, rushing touchdowns in a season, and rushing touchdowns in a single game.
Daily has rushed for 100 yards in nine consecutive games this season, the most 100-yard games by an Army rusher in single-season history, breaking Class of 1991 Mike Mayweather’s 1990 record.
Army won the AAC regular season and earned the right to host the AAC Championship game on December 6 vs. Tulane at 8:00pm ET at Michie Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
The Manning Award selected 29 quarterbacks for its Watch List in the preseason and added an additional 14 quarterbacks on October 24. Finalists will be selected in early December and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.
All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning combined for over 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.
