Members of 2nd Battalion, 4th Regiment of the U.S. Military Academy Corps of Cadets commemorated the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001 by running the American Flag throughout Central Area to the West Point Cemetery and back throughout the day on September 11 at West Point.
As one cadet reminded a bystander by saying, “Never Forget,” the day was a reminder of the sacrifices made by all the emergency responders on that fateful day and the Soldiers who died in the years that followed in the war on terrorism.
The day also included a wreath-laying ceremony at Battle Monument to remember the 9/11 victims, the American Flag being flown at half-staff, a community stair climb/run at Michie Stadium, and several mini-American Flags placed at Washington Monument.
