Staying Committed: LTC (P) Tom Nelson ’04
During his time as a cadet at West Point, Lieutenant Colonel (Promotable) Tom Nelson’s commitment to a military career began to solidify. “The challenges and purpose-driven environment fueled my determination,” he says; “however, it was when the Army offered me the opportunity to attend graduate school and teach in the USMA Department of Math that I knew I’d be in for a career.”

Roberts ’04 Releases “The Gospel of You”
Thomas Roberts ’04 released the book “The Gospel of You: Start Telling Your Story.” According to Roberts, being able to tell one’s own story in different scenarios, situations, under pressure, under any circumstance, and in any setting can be the difference between a life of advancement and opportunity or a life mired in mediocrity and regret.

The West Point Coaches’ Character-Building Formula
Using an unwritten formula, West Point coaches have inspired and helped train thousands of cadets to become commissioned leaders of character. What principles would be on the West Point coach’s blueprint for character? It could start, “I am a West Point coach who coaches warrior athletes,” and would likely include an ethos about Duty, Honor, Country and the Army values. Coaching philosophies from each West Point coach would provide additional principles to the formula.

Hosted by the Army West Point Marathon team on March 17, the 2024 Fallen Comrades Half Marathon at West Point saw approximately 700 participants conquer a challenging 13.1-mile course in remembrance of 13 fallen West Point graduates.

West Point Society of Baltimore Holds Leadership Conference for High School Students
The West Point Society of Baltimore’s inaugural 2024 Leadership & Ethics Conference was held at the McManus Theatre, Loyola University, Maryland on February 22. The conference, hosted by the Loyola University Military Science Department, brought together leaders from the military, business, and academic communities to discuss the importance of ethical leadership in today’s world.
