Army West Point Women’s Soccer began the season on a high note, receiving two weekly Patriot League awards after going 1-1-0 in its first week. Senior Captains Kaelan Bradley ’25 and Sage Strohman ’25 took home Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.
Bradley started and played significant minutes in games against Wake Forest on August 15 and Manhattan on August 18. She was a pivotal factor in the Black Knight’s 3-0 victory over Manhattan, recording a goal and an assist. She slotted home a penalty kick to give Army a commanding 2-0 lead before assisting CDT Sabrina Rogers ’27 on her first career goal minutes later. She is now 6-6 from the penalty spot in her career.
Strohman began the season on fire, recording 14 saves against Wake Forest. No Army keeper has made more saves in a single game since Jordan Cassalia ’17 tallied 15 saves against Delaware on September 5, 2014. Strohman followed that up with three saves, leading to her twentieth career shutout against Manhattan.
The Black Knights now turn their focus towards the remainder of a busy six-game homestand. They will face UMass on August 22, Central Connecticut State on August 25, Samford on August 28, and Providence on September 1.
