Ten West Point cadets from the International Affairs major, International Affairs Forum, and Model UN team traveled to the World Affairs Council Global Security Forum hosted at Goodwin University in Hartford, Connecticut. The cadets listened to panel discussions from policy experts and military leaders concerning security challenges to the US and NATO alliance. CDT William Plank ’26 was invited to introduce a panel, “Adversaries: China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea” featuring LTG (R) Robert Ashley and MG Shane Buzza and moderated by LTC Christopher Gin ’05. Other panels discussed artificial intelligence and cyber, climate change, and US policy in the Middle East.
Donors supporting the Margin of Excellence at West Point make out-of-classroom opportunities like this experience, and cadet clubs, possible.
