On February 22-23, the Army Debate Team attended the District Eight National Debate Tournament Qualifier and Northeast Championship at Suffolk University in Boston. In the Novice Division, CDTs Paul Chau ’28 and Jack Gerber ’28 advanced to the finals, ultimately winning the championship, while CDTs Patrick Rowe ’28 and Alex Anteen ’28 similarly advanced to finals, closing out the bracket. Additionally, CDTs Lucille Fellman ’28 and Mira Shelat ’27 advanced to semifinals, before being stepped over by CDTs Rowe and Anteen. CDTs Chau, Gerber, Fellman, MacDonnell, Rowe, and Anteen further received speaker awards in the novice division, placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 9th respectively. In the Open Division, CDTs Dominic Opron ’26 and James Song ’27 received six of twelve potential ballots, securing eligibility to compete at the National Debate Tournament in April.
