Army West Point Athletics Unveils New Logo and Uniforms

On April 13, Army West Point Athletics unveiled a new logo system that defines the visual identity and look for the Academy sports teams for years to come. With the goal of developing an innovative and consistent athletic identity while honoring the Academy's legacy and tradition, U.S. Army and Academy leadership, Army West Point Athletics, current and former cadet-athletes, coaches, historians and West Point graduates collaborated with Nike on an 18-month brand evolution process. As part of the new identity, all 28 athletic programs will showcase consistent logos, colors, lettering and numerals. The iconic Athena Shield, the centerpiece of the new look, is indisputably unique to Army West Point Athletics. Its four distinctive elements (the Shield, Helmet, Sword and Star) come together to represent Army West Point Athletics’ values of Duty, Honor, Country, and powerfully portray the Soldier-Scholar ideal. SOSH Run Shenanigans

On April 9, cadets took part in one of West Point’s newer traditions—the “SOSH Run.” Cadets dress up in costume and run at the last minute to turn in their International Relations research paper by 4:30pm. Cadets, staff, faculty and West Point Parents lined Thayer Walk to cheer on cadets as they ran to beat the deadline. WPAOG’s video captures all the fun!
