With victories by Army Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse programs, respectively on April 12 over Navy, Army Athletics has won the Army-Navy Star Series Presented by USAA for the first time since 2013-14. A major accomplishment for the Army West Point Athletics Department, it marks only the fifth time Army has beaten Navy in the all-sports challenge between the two service academies which began in 1978-79.
Army has also won the Star Series in 1984-85, 1994-95, 1995-96, and 2013-14.
This year, Army won the Series 14-12 with victories from Volleyball, Golf, Sprint Football, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Cross Country, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Rugby, Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving, Women’s Basketball, Wrestling, Women’s Tennis, Men’s Lacrosse, and Women’s Lacrosse.
“This is a testament to the amazing coaches and cadet-athletes here at West Point,” said Director of Athletics, Tom Theodorakis. “The momentum within our athletic department is palpable and we are seeing some serious results on the competition side.”
On April 12, Army Men’s Lacrosse defeated Navy in Annapolis in overtime, 12-11 on a game-winning goal scored by CDT Jackson Eicher ’25. It was Army’s third consecutive win over Navy, defeating the Mids, 13-8 in 2024 and 11-6 in 2023.
Army Women’s Lacrosse handled the Mids at home at Michie Stadium, winning 17-12 behind six goals from CDT Allison Reilly ’26.
Swimming & Diving made history in December by sweeping Navy and collecting both stars that were up for grabs. The Black Knight swimmers collected wins simultaneously over Navy for the first time in 36 years with 27 first-place finishes, 13 program records, and 12 Crandall Pool records.
Women’s Basketball was victorious over Navy in their Star match for the fourth consecutive season, defeating the Mids, 68-64 in Annapolis. CDT Trinity Hardy ’25 came up with a clutch steal and converted the game-winning layup in transition with under a minute remaining. It was their seventh consecutive win over Navy.

Both soccer programs won their matches in the fall as Men’s Soccer won 2-1, winning two of the past three series meetings. Women’s Soccer clinched the star for the third consecutive season with a 4-0 victory. It was the largest victory in program history over the Midshipmen and was the first three-game win streak for Army over Navy since winning the first five matchups of the series (1994-1997).
Volleyball won the first star of the year in late September claiming the win over five sets of action to have won 31 of 43 star matches throughout history.
