Army West Point Hockey defenseman CDT Mac Gadowsky ’27 received a pair of postseason major awards from Atlantic Hockey America, as announced March 18 by the league.

Gadowsky earned the Best Defenseman Award as the conference’s defenseman of the year while also receiving the Individual Sportsmanship Award after being called for just three penalties in 38 games.

Gadowsky finished the season with 16 goals and 42 points on the campaign, the most in the country among any blue liners. His goal total was fourth in the conference while his points total was good for second in the circuit. He logged 33 points in 26 conference games, good for a mark of 1.27 points per AHA contest. His laurels throughout the season included a pair of AHA Defenseman of the Month honors while receiving Defenseman of the Week recognition five times. His 42 points marked the most from any Army skater in the AHA era as he was the only player in the nation to record over 40 points and over 40 blocked shots. Gadowsky ended the campaign with 33 points across his past 20 games and had seven games with three or more points this season, the most from any skater in the country.

Gadowsky is the third Black Knight in program history to receive the AHA Best Defenseman Award along with Zach McKelvie ’09 and Alex Wilkinson ’20. He is also the fourth to claim the Individual Sportsmanship Award with Chris Garceau ’05, Ryan Nick ’17, and Alex Wilkinson ’20.
