The Army West Point Women’s Soccer team earned a thrilling 3-2 win over UMass. CDT Bella Conti ’28 introduced herself to Army fans with a two-goal performance.
Army was on the front foot from the start, with Conti netting her first career goal in the 15th minute on a great assist from CDT Sabrina Rogers ’27. Only 10 minutes later, the plebe chipped a shot over the UMass keepers’ outstretched arms to give Army a 2-0 lead.
In the 35th minute, the Minutewomen would get a goal back to make things 2-1 going into the break. In the 59th minute, they’d score again to tie things up. UMass kept the pressure on, forcing reigning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week CDT Sage Strohman ’25 to make seven saves, with four coming in the second half.
In the 69th minute, the UMass keeper made a pass that CDT Cami Silvestro ’26 immediately intercepted and fired it home from nearly 25 yards out to put the Black Knights back on top. Army would kill off the remaining 20 minutes to hold on for its second straight win. The brace by Bella Conti is the first by an Army plebe since August 29, 2019, when Elise Urkov ’23 slotted two home against UAlbany.
