CDTs Brigid Duffy ’26 and Allison Reilly ’26 of Army West Point Women’s Lacrosse have each been named to the USA Lacrosse U20 squad for the upcoming World Lacrosse 2024 Women’s U20 Championship. The competition will take place in Hong Kong, China from August 15-24, 2024. The tournament is set to be hosted by the China Hong Kong Lacrosse Association with support from World Lacrosse. The top women’s programs will compete at the junior-level world championship, which last took place in 2019 with over 20 teams.
The duo will join Noto Family Head Coach Michelle Tumolo, who was named as an assistant coach for the team this past summer. Army is one of three collegiate programs to see multiple athletes make the final roster, along with Northwestern and Boston College. The selections were made following a training camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters from June 19-21.
“I could not be more excited at the selection of our U20 national team that will compete in the world championship in Hong Kong,” said Amonte Hiller. “We have chosen a group of 22 tremendously talented young women that work extremely well together. This is an exciting time for USA Lacrosse and we are so grateful for this group to have the opportunity to wear the red, white, and blue and compete in this extraordinary tournament.”
Duffy is coming off her second All-American campaign in an Army uniform after leading the Black Knights in goals, draw controls, ground balls, and caused turnovers this past season. She led the Patriot League with 29 caused turnovers and was the only player in the country to register 60-plus goals, 100-plus draw controls, and 25-plus caused turnovers during the regular season. Her 94 points trailed only Reilly’s 95 on Army’s all-time single season list, as the duo each landed in the top-five in the country in points per game.
Reilly was the leading scorer in the Patriot League this season and ranked fourth in the country with 5.59 points per game this past year. She recorded the lone 40-goal/40-assist campaign in the regular season in the Patriot League and posted eight-plus points in five of nine Patriot League contests. Her 95 points is also the single-season program record with her 40 assists ranking second all-time. She was a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention while tabbing All-Patriot League First Team honors in the process.
