Army West Point Wrestling’s CDTs Charles Farmer ’26 and Lucas Stoddard ’27 each won gold medals at the United World Wrestling U23 Pan-American Championships in Colombia on June 23.
Competing in 57kg freestyle, Farmer went 3-0 at the championships while representing the United States, defeating Treye Trotman of Canada in the gold medal bout.
“Charlie was all over his opponents’ legs this weekend and he got the results he wanted,” said Army Associate Head Coach Scott Green. “A gold in his first international competition is something he will always remember.”
Stoddard meanwhile took the 125kg championship, avenging a group stage, round-robin loss to Canada’s Jorawar Dhinsa in the finals, 2-1.
“Lucas had five bouts which was awesome preparation for the World Championships. He made some nice adjustments to avenge an earlier loss,” said Green.
Additionally, Army’s Joseph Couch ’26 competed in the 60kg Greco-Roman flight, going 1-2 overall.
Stoddard will look ahead to the UWW U23 World Championships, slated for October in Tirana, Albania. He qualified for the World Championships by taking gold in the 125kg class at the USA Wrestling National Championships in Geneva, Ohio earlier this month.
