West Point Society of the Space Coast Tours Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral

Thirty Six members of the West Point Society of the Space Coast took a bus and walking tour of historic Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS).  Sites included four different museums located on the property, Alan Shepard’s launch site, John Glenn’s launch site and blockhouse, site of the Apollo 1 fire, launch complexes for the Atlas-Centaur, Titan, Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Space Shuttle, New Glenn, Falcon 9, Delta 4, and the Artemis moon vehicle.

A highlight of the tour was a visit to the Saturn V Center and a briefing by Janet Petro ’81, the KSC Center Director. COL (R) Norm White ’73, President of the West Point Society of the Space Coast conducted the tour for the group. Special emphasis was placed on the many contributions of West Point graduates to the U.S. Space Program.
