At the October 7 Army football game against Boston College, the Class of 1983 presented a record 40th Reunion gift of $5,830,000 to the Academy. Their gift is in support of five gift areas: the First Class Club Maintenance Endowment, the West Point Press, the Superintendent’s Endowment, the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) Endowment, and the Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic (SCPME).
LTC (R) Peter Martin, Class President, Mr. James McAree, Class Fundraising Chairman, and Mr. Philip Clough presented the gift on behalf of the class. Since their graduation, the Class of 1983 has gifted over $11 million in support of the Academy, with over 85% of the class participating.
Reunions are occasions for alumni to celebrate their place in West Point’s history, reflect on what the Academy has meant to them, renew their ties to the Long Gray Line, and learn how their support enhances the West Point experience. Thank you to “Proud to Be ’83” for all that you’ve done to leave a legacy at USMA.
