Andrea joined the West Point Association of Graduates as a Leadership Gifts Officer in 2023. She graduated from USMA in 2002 as part of Company G-2 and commissioned as Quartermaster Officer. She returned to West Point after serving on active duty for 20 years.
Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science degree in European History from the United States Military Academy with a minor in French. She deployed to Iraq twice with the 1st Infantry Division (OIF II & OIF/OND) and completed two tours in Germany (701st MSB in Kitzingen & 522nd MI BN in Wiesbaden). Throughout her career, Andrea spent a combined total of 10 years in the National Capital Region. She completed a Master of Arts in Security Studies from Georgetown University and a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University. She held a variety of assignments at Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, the State Department, and the Defense Intelligence Agency. Prior to retirement, Andrea had the privilege of being the Professor of Military Science at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.
As a cadet, Andrea was a member of the French club and spent her free time playing intramurals, practicing for parades, and preparing for inspections. Her hobbies include hiking, bird watching, and music. She lives in Dawsonville, GA with her husband, Colonel Nelson So (Case Western ROTC), and their three children.
