Nomination Policy
The Association has a standard set of policies and procedures for ALL candidates for either Director or Advisor-at-Large.
There are two points you should be aware of:

Nomination packets must include all the content described below or they WILL NOT be forwarded to the Nominating Committee.

CONTENT AND FORMAT:
To ensure a fair and equitable process for all nominees and for the AOG, each nomination must include the following:

A nomination letter from any graduate, your class leadership, or your West Point society. You will not be considered without a nomination and self-nominations are prohibited.

A letter from you, the INDIVIDUAL nominee, which specifically states a desire to serve or continue to serve. The letter must specifically state that you have reviewed the duties and responsibilities of Directors and Advisors. You should also indicate that you have the willingness, the financial capability, and time available to travel to meetings at your expense, as is expected of all involved in not-for-profit governance. You will not be considered without such a letter.

Your letter or attachments thereto should also specifically address each of the following:

Short summary of all military service, to include:
-
Highest rank attained
-
USMA service and special/unusual assignments
-
Retired or Active status
-
Reserve or National Guard service
-
Post-graduate education/degrees.

A short summary of your current job, duties, and responsibilities, as appropriate.

WPAOG Activities:
-
WPAOG service or the Board of Directors, Advisory Council, or its former governing body, the Board of Trustees.

WPAOG Committees/Task Forces
-
Counseling or other such service for the WPAOG.

Class Activities:

Leadership

Class Committees

If no activity — so state

West Point Society Activities:

Leadership or special activities/projects

Membership/participation

If no activity — so state

USMA Admissions Support:

Describe activities.

If no involvement with Army Athletics - so state

Include a recent photo in hard copy or high-quality digital format (.tif or .bmp preferred — they will be published in hard copy as well as on the web).

You may attach your current CV/Biographical summary or other documents/letters as additional support. This does not relieve you from the responsibility of specifically addressing the items in 3. a – h and 4 above. Please do not expect that the Nominating Committee will try to evaluate you based on the Cullum Files or the Register of Graduates.

Only candidates who have completed all of the above will be considered.
