Reunion Campaigns

Class of 1975 Presents $1M during the Army -N Texas Game during their 35th Reunion Weekend.

Reunions are occasions for alumni to celebrate their place in West Point's history, reflect on what the Academy has meant to them, and renew their ties to the Long Gray Line.  Reunion celebrations are also a time for classes to catch up on what is going on at the Academy and learn how their support enhances the West Point experience.

The WPAOG Class Giving Program operates on a repeating 10-year cycle (10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th Reunions).  Three to four years prior to these reunions, the WPAOG Class & Annual Giving (CAG) Office assists the Class President and Fundraising Chairman in planning a class campaign in which the class raises funds for a specific project: the Class Reunion Gift Project.  Potential gift targets from the Superintendent’s needs list are shared by the CAG Office.  CAG then works with the class’ Gift Selection Committee to narrow the needs to several choices of widest appeal to the class.  A class vote is held; then with 3 years remaining until the reunion, the fundraising campaign is launched with the class. Over this 3-year campaign period, the CAG Office works closely with the class leaders and campaign volunteers in reaching the financial goal set by the class.  At the reunion, the gift is formally presented to the Academy.

Also at the reunion, classes are recognized for all contributions made to West Point since the previous reunion.  Class Reunion Giving captures all of the financial support by classmates and friends of the class to all Academy funds over the previous 5 years— a true measure of how alumni support West Point.  The Class Reunion Gift Project is only one part of Class Reunion Giving to the Academy.  In addition to gifts made specifically to the Class Reunion Gift Project (Class Gift Fund), Class Reunion Giving also includes gifts to the Superintendent’s Annual Fund, the Long Gray Line Fund, the “A” Club, Cadet Activities, and other programs at West Point.  Gifts of cash, stock, gifts-in-kind, and irrevocable planned gifts are included in this 5-year Class Giving total.
