Important Update

Notice is hereby given that the 2024 Annual Meeting for regular members of the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) will take place on Tuesday, November 19 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time in the Herbert Hall Alumni Center, 698 Mills Road, West Point, New York 10996. The business of the meeting will be to elect a Chair, Vice-Chair, five members to our Board of Directors, and six Advisors at Large.

Associate Membership

Former cadets who served at least one academic semester at USMA and left the Academy for reasons other than conduct contrary to the best interests of the Academy may apply for Associate Membership. Members of the USMA staff, faculty, and coaches who did not graduate from West Point may also be eligible to apply, providing their principal duties are with cadets (see Bylaws for additional details). Former USMA Staff who are not USMA graduates are offered Associate Membership, as well. Widows and widowers of USMA graduates are considered to be Associate Members and need not apply for membership.

Listing in the Register of Graduates and Former Cadets. If you are a former cadet you may post information in your class section.  Associate members who are not former cadets will be listed in an annex to the Register.

Participation in the WPAOG Travel Program. For details on upcoming trips, please call 845.446.1604.

Access to the AOG Gift Shop in Herbert Hall. The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday 10:00am – 5:00pm and on home football Saturdays. You can also shop online at https://www.wpaoggiftshop.com/, from the catalog, or place an order by phone: 1.800.426.4725.

Eligibility to Reserve the Class of 1946 Great Hall at the Herbert Alumni Center for parties, ceremonies, other special occasions. The magnificent Great Hall may be reserved for a nominal fee. The hall can accommodate 160 guests for dinner, 120 with a dance floor, or 200 for a “stand up” function. Detailed information is available on the WPAOG website or by calling 845.446.1603, or send an inquiry to great-hall@wpaog.org

Use of conference rooms in the Alumni Center. There are three conference rooms on the second floor. Each can accommodate approximately 10 individuals. During normal business hours, 8am– 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, meeting rooms are available at no cost. 

Access to the WPAOG Alumni Center during home football games. Prior to games, coffee, tea, juice and cookies are provided; after the game, snacks and soda are available.

Electronic Newsletters:  The WPAOG periodically publishes three newsletters. They will keep you connected to what’s happening at the Academy and within the West Point community:

  • First Call is a bimonthly enewsletter, containing articles and information related to graduates and the USMA.

Friends of West Point

Friends of West Point is a membership status conveyed to those individuals who support the mission, goals, and ideals of the United States Military Academy, and who are not otherwise qualified for membership as Regular or Associate Members. Friends of West Point must be nominated or sponsored by two West Point graduates.

Candidates may become members of Friends of West Point in one of two ways:
1.  Two West Point graduates nominate someone for membership as a way to honor the candidate.
2.  An individual submits his/her own candidacy, having obtained the nomination of two West Point graduates.

A candidate’s application must include the nomination and signature of two West Point graduates; contact information for the candidate; a brief biography of the candidate which includes reasons the candidate desires membership in Friends of West Point. All applications must be approved by the WPAOG’s Board of Directors. Upon approval, candidates or nominators must submit a $100 lifetime membership fee.

Application Timeline

Cut off dates for Associate and Friends of West Point membership applications/nominations are based on the Board of Director’s meeting schedule.

• Document deadline is January 1st to be voted on by the BOD at their February meeting.
• Document deadline is March 1 to be voted on by the BOD at their April meeting.
• Document deadline is July 1 to be voted on by the BOD at their August meeting.
• Document deadline is October 1 to be voted on by the BOD at their December meeting.
