Class of 1962 Gives $1.5 Million to West Point
The Class of 1962 presented their 50th reunion gift of $1.5 million to the Superintendent of the United States Military Academy in support of the Class of 1962 Fitness Room Endowment.
The “62 Room" was originally dedicated in 1992. In 2009, the Class of 1962 helped expand and refurbish the facility that houses weight machines, exercise mats, and balance and stretching equipment. Also in 2009, the Class created a maintenance endowment for the fitness room. This last class gift significantly increases the maintenance endowment, which will provide for enhancements and repairs to this great facility in perpetuity.
The “62 Room” is one of the most widely recognized and used facility by today’s cadets.
