Class of 1977 Reunion Gift
USMA Class of 1977 Presents a 30th Reunion Gift of $1.2 million to the Combating Terrorism Center
During the first quarter of the victorious Army vs. Rhode Island football game on 8 September, Class of 1977 President Jim Malcolm and Fundraising Chair Scott Anders presented a $1.2 million dollar gift from the Class of 1977 to the Combating Terrorism Center. Joining them was President of the West Point Association of Graduates, COL (R) Robert L. McClure, and accepting the gift was the 57th Superintendent of the United States Military Academy, LTG Buster Hagenbeck.
The attacks of September 11, 2001 marked a dramatic change in the national security environment for the United States. Just as it has in response to past national challenges, the United States Military Academy has assumed an important role in helping the leaders of our nation understand and respond to the new security environment. The Combating Terrorism Center at West Point was founded in February 2003 with the mission of arming current and future leaders with the intellectual tools needed to defeat and deter terrorist threats to our nation.
Congratulations and thank you to the Class of 1977 for making this generous gift to the Combating Terrorism Center possible!
